Saving MSO captures without capture history

Hi All,

I’m not sure if this is already a feature that I couldn’t find in the docs, but I’d like to be able to save a capture without saving the entire history in triggered mode (or at least having a way to flush the history or delete certain captures from the history).

This would reduce a lot of file size bloat with these captures while letting me preserve the full information of the capture for review later.

@dario Sorry for the trouble with that! Trimming capabilities are planned for a future release. I don’t have an immediate timeline to share with you on that yet, but I can share an update in case we have more news to share.

In the meantime, could Mark’s workaround below help out?

Hi @sooseok.sim1, Sorry for the trouble with this, we still need to add these features to Logic MSO. It’s on the list. In the short term though, you can right-click a timing marker pair and select “zoom on pair” then export with the “visible screen” range selected. However the zoom feature will zoom out a touch past the pairs range, so the export file will contain a bit more data than that. Hi tim,

The current work around for me is to just create a new capture window for every capture I save and limit the # of triggers I actually record. This makes capture files much more manageable size-wise and is not too much trouble to do.
