Amateur - Problem with Logic Analyzer tool

I have just started to use logic analyzer 8 ch 24MHz. I have two issues.

  1. All the channels by default shows High. Is this normal. when i connect the pin to ground it detects. but not the rest.
  2. I have assigned a protocol to a channel but i am not able to edit this. Suppose i added an analyzer lets say CAN to CH1, then how am I supposed to delete this analyzer and add another one

@aswin.raj Sorry for the trouble with that! This is Tim, one of the engineers on the team here. First, can you let me know which specific logic analyzer model you own?

Hi Tim, Thanks for coming up.

I think its a Logic 8.
You can check this link: Logic Analyzer 8CH Binghe Logic Analyzer 8CH 24MHz, USB Logic Analyzer UART IIC SPI Debug Support of 1.1.16 with USB Cable and Jump Wire Compatible with Arduino: Amazon.de: Computer & Accessories

@aswin.raj The device you linked is unfortunately not an official Saleae Logic device. For quick reference, our official devices can be found linked below.

Having said that, I can help with question number 2. Specifically, the support article below can help with learning how to add, edit, delete, and add new protocol analyzers to your capture.

Hey @aswin.raj, FYI –

In case you didn’t know, there are discounts available for student/hobbyist and smaller company users:

… and the Logic 8 is much nicer & more reliable than the cheap clones. You get what you pay for, and the quirkiness of unterminated pins is probably not the only issue you may experience.

It might be nice if Saleae still sold authentic OG logic devices at a lower price point vs. the new series, but I think these knock-offs ruined the business model and they’ve moved on to better things.
