When I attempt to install Logic 2.4.14 on Windows 11 for Arm running in a VM using Parallels on a Apple silicon Mac, the installation of “Microsoft Visual C++ 2022 Redistributable (Arm64) - 14.30.30704” fails with a unexpected message about a DIFFERENT redistributable: “Warning 4154. Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2019 x64 prerequisite was not correctly installed”, and the installation fails and backs out.
Any ideas on how to get around this? It sounds like the installer is checking for the wrong DLL, but I’m no Windows expert.
… it looks like Windows for ARM has some known installation issues, but some work arounds were posted on the other thread. There are also security/signature issues with 3rd party device drivers being worked out as well. Note: I’ve seen some separate issues with trying to run Windows for ARM within a VM, as well as running on Windows 11 (vs. Windows 10) – so there may be more challenges in your case than the thread linked above, as they’re working on native Windows Surface vs. using a VM in Parallels.
Why not just run Logic natively on MacOS? (Saleae does support Logic2 for Apple silicon).
