I was able to reproduce the problem and confirm that the workaround mentioned here does solve the problem:

This seems possibly related to #16892.
When Signal-Desktop upgraded from 6.1.… 4 to 8.0.3, many users reported seeing a blank window when doing X forwarding over SSH or running the X client inside a docker/lxc container (even with direct access to the local X11 socket).
Reported there as https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Desktop/issues/4040 seems to effect several different environments, but here its a simple LXC container with debian stable-ish on the inside and outside.

Specifically:
./Logic-2.3.26-rc-2.3.26.AppImage --no-sandbox --no-xshm
However, the frame rate was pretty poor, even though I was connected over a local network. I think something like Chrome Remote Desktop would have a much better framerate.
