LA won't run on Nobara (Fedora) libnsl missing

I’m not sure this is the right place to be posting this question, as it may not be a problem with Logic Analyser.

I have been trying to get LA to run on Nobara. I found an earlier post with the same problem and a link to some things to check. One of them was that libnsl may be missing. I followed the instructions to check, and sure enough the library was flagged as missing. I found that the package that provides libnsl (or one of them anyway) is libnsl-2.41-5.fc42, so I tried to install it, only to find that that package is already installed. I double checked, verified, and checked again, and I am 99% confident that libnsl.so.1 is installed, yet LA seems unable to find it.

I’ve logged out and in again, and restarted the PC, to no avail. I don’t know what to try next.

Perhaps one other question for my own edification, if I may. It’s my understanding that the purpose of an appimage is that it contains all the libraries needed to run the application, hence no need to install anything, and can run from anywhere. If that’s the case then how can a library be missing? Shouldn’t libnsl be included in the appimage? I’m not remotely technical, so please excuse the simple question. Thanks.

@hmwhse Sorry for the trouble with that! As a starting point, can I know which specific Saleae Logic model you own?

With regards to Linux support, we develop and test our software on Ubuntu only. To check your libnsl installation, are you able to run Linux Solutions Step 5 found in the link below?

For your question on the AppImage contents, I’ll check in with the team on that as well.
