So, I decided to take a closer look on Saleae Logic 2.x, started some older version I had installed on my Windows 10 machine, got prompted to update to 2.4.14, said OK, program got updated, started and connected to my device.
Then I closed the program, did something else, started it up again - and now I get an error. So I try to select the error text in the notification box, so I can copy it, and paste in my notes and to search for it online - but I can’t!?
I find this so confusing - why would any programmer program a software that reports error messages, and make the text in the error message unselectable? Don’t you guys like copy/paste error message, and then search on the Internet? Or do you really prefer typing the messages out? Or am I supposed to run AI these days, and have it perform OCR on the message box text, before I get the plain text of the message? I truly do not understand … which is why I consider this a bug.
Can you please make all text in error messages that get reported back to the user in the Saleae Logic 2.x GUI selectable with the mouse, and copy/pasteable as plain text, in your next release/update?
(btw here is the error message I got, which I had to type out:
An unknown error occurred during device connection. Please disconnect and reconnect your device. IF the error persists, please contact Saleae support.
… but of course, that is not the topic of this bug report)
