In the following screenshot I have all 4 MSO channels attached to the ground and signal of the included Saleae pulse generator. I have all 4 channels set to the defaults with a 10V range and 0V offset.
Each of the channels is showing a different ground offset from -88.6mv to -303.07mv. I have swapped the scope probes around and confirmed that these offsets stay with the MSO channels. I have also tested with third party probes and I see the same offsets.
Looking a the calibration certificate for my MSO, the 3V measurements were all within ±1mV. I also have some captures from when I first received the MSO that show much more accurate ground measurements.
Is there some form of calibration I can do on the MSO to correct these offsets? What could have caused the calibration to get this far off in the first place?
@JamesFF Sorry for the trouble with that! I saw your email come into our support inbox as well. You likely have a badly calibrated unit. We’ll review the details you sent over, but from the looks of it, we’ll probably help with a replacement unit.
We’ll continue chatting via email to get this solved for you!
Thanks @timreyes, I really appreciate the support.
Incase it’s not clear to anyone that stumbles across this, I absolutely love my MSO. It is still incredibly useful to me even with these offsets. It has helped me easily debug issues that would have been close to impossible to figure out without it.
I have had to switch back to a Keysight for the past few days, and it has been painful. It is soooo much easier to get things setup in Logic 2. The history view is also the most useful thing ever. I have missed more triggers in the past two days than I have missed in the previous 6 months.
If anyone is on the fence about an MSO don’t let this tip you the wrong way. The MSO is awesome!
